solheim sunday
I was very much looking forward to photographing the third and final round of the Solheim Cup today in Sugar Grove.
The Solheim Cup is unlike any golf tournament that I have shot before. At a typical golf tournament, you might get a good jubilation shot on the last hole when the last golfer of the day wins the tourney but at the Solheim there is yelling and screaming from the 1st tee on.
At day’s end, the USA had defeated a pesky European squad 16-14 and I made a ton of many flag-waving and hugging photos but none that truly excited me.
My favorite moment was on the aforementioned first tee as the USA fans and the European fans tried to drown out each other’s cheers.
