made it, ma! top of the world!
One the best things about working the night shift is the fabulous light in the early evening.
That light was present last night as I photographed the Chicago 2016 event in Millennium Park. While hanging out in the park, I was distracted by the wonderfully photogenic sculpture known as “The Bean”.
When I shoot Cloud Gate, aka “The Bean”, I always try to make the image as abstract as possible.
I have found that by just including part of the sculpture, it is quite easy to create an optical illusion.
In this photo it almost appears that the gull is sitting on top of the world.
