I don’t post many sports action photos on my blog even though it’s a huge part of what I do at the Chicago Tribune.
Now that I am working the night shift, I have been covering a lot more Chicago Bulls’ games. The Bulls have a super young talent named Derrick Rose and he seems to have energized his teammates, but two specifically- Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas- have definitely raised their games.
NBA regular season contests aren’t the most entertaining sporting events but each one always seems to have a couple spasms of effort. During last night’s overtime loss to the 76ers, one of those spasms was during the second half of the 4th quarter as the Bulls rallied to tie the game.
During that 6 minute span, the Bulls were flying all over the court, sometimes out of control, led by their number one spazz- Andres Nocioni. They were so inspired even the jump shooting Ben Gordon was driving to the basket.
It was pretty thrilling, that is, until they tanked in overtime.
