When my wife Anna and I were married, we decided that despite now having 4 kids, we didn’t want to become the type of parents that spent all their free time chauffeuring their children from activity to activity.
The problem is that we want our kids to be active.
So, today was a typical day.
Drop Caroline off at cheer camp. Drop Sophie off at horseback riding lesson. Pick up Betsy and Cameron after nature camp sleepover. Rush over to see Caroline’s cheer performance. Anna picks up Sophie and joins us at Caroline’s performance. Go home. Drop Sophie off at cheer camp. Go back for Sophie’s performance. Come home. Drop Sophie off at softball game. Pick up Sophie.
I am the lucky one though since I work the evening shift so usually Anna’s juggles the kids’ schedules in addition to working her 8 hours as a PT and training for the Chicago Marathon. We also have great neighbors (thank you Jennifer and Kathy) who help out a ton.
