west coast living

We spent another fabulous weekend at a fabulous summer house on a fabulous island on the west coast of Sweden.

This time we were on Valön, an island just off of Fjällbacka, at the summer house of Erik and Lotta Schröder.

I felt like I was living in a story in a high end Swedish life magazine.

Everything was beautiful- the structures, the nature and the people.

Here is Axel, a member of another family that joined in on the fun. In the background is the guest house that we slept in.

  1. OMG. Perfection.

  2. Your photographs are beautiful. I’m a photography student, and I love seeing what you do. Great inspiration! Thank you.

  3. Scott,

I admire your work, and as a student I’m interested in the technical side as well. What are you shooting with, and what are some of the settings you are using for these images?

    Thanks!

    • Everyone, thanks so much for the kind words on this trip!

      Brooke, I brought two lens on this trip- a 50mm f/1.4 and a 24-70mm f/2.8.

The images that have very shallow depth of field (from Tjorn and Fjallbacka) were shot with the 50mm wide open, the rest with the short zoom.

  4. Hi Scott, thanks for the kind words.
We all really enjoy getting to know you and your family. Looking already forward seeing you next year.

  5. Dear Scott,

Thanks for the reply! Be safe on your trip, and thanks for sharing these beautiful glimpses.

    Sincerely,
    Brooke
