the back side

Just like a baseball player during the dog days of August, I feel like I am in a slump.

The harder I try, the worse it gets.

It’s not that my images are out of focus or that my compositions suck, I just feel like for the past couple of weeks, luck hasn’t been on my side. In fact, I feel like I keep ending up on the wrong side of the photo.

Slumps are nothing new to me. I probably have 5 or 6 a year. I know that they go as quickly as they come but I think they are more noticeable to me now that I am blogging.

Well, all I can promise is that I will keep on shooting.

  1. I’m feelin’ ya on this one.

  2. I’m sorry you feel as though you are in a slump but I am enjoying and looking forward to every shot, Scott. You’ll find the groove soon, I’m sure 🙂 Keep shooting!

  3. I’ve been studying photography for two years now, and find even what you call a slump inspirational. Keep on shooting, and I’ll keep on learning!

  4. I find art (and heart) in everything you do. However, when I feel like that, I take myself and my camera for a walk in the woods. Hard not to be inspired. Like magic, everything improves.

  5. Actually Scott, I kinda like it.

  6. It’s a mark of professionalism to be able to admit when you’re not meeting your own standards. Nonetheless, you still havent let your fans down… (unlike some baseball teams).

  7. Hey good stuff…keep up the good work! I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,)

    A definite great read…:)
