the last gasp of summer

For most of summer, a company  has been operating a hot air balloon for tourists visiting Chicago’s Navy Pier.

Today, the air was let out of the attraction.

However, when I arrived, the balloon was still airborne.

As I started making a mental game plan for the shoot, I noticed a banner with photos on the side that showed a handful of kids well on their way to a major sugar buzz.

At that moment, I decided to hang out until the kid images got closer to ground level.

Finally after an hour of waiting, everything came together.

  1. Welcome home ceremony of the Cav 6-6, Fort Drum, NY where my son, Josh, returned back in September from a year over in Iraq – Great ceremony (only 7 minutes long) but I get a kick out of it!

  2. Love it Scott.
