speechless in chicago
Back in 1982, the Chicago Blackhawks made it all the way to the conference finals before losing to the Vancouver Canucks.
It was a very emotional series.
One of the Hawks’ most famous traditions began during that series.
The fans at the Chicago Stadium started yelling and cheering during the Star Spangled Banner. To this day, it still gives me chills when the United Center explodes in noise as the National Anthem begins to play.
I photographed a boy tonight during the anthem who must have been experiencing his first hockey anthem.
A hot dog couldn’t even compare.
