three little prayers for haiti

In wake of yesterday’s blog post, of course, today I would be sent to a memorial service in Chicago’s Haitian community.

It was a very somber service held in an ornate Catholic Church on the far south side. The sweetest moment was when three of the Ali family’s children- Asia Jemina, Kai and Khalil- said a silent prayer for Haiti.

The evening was a well needed reminder that I am what I am and that is ok.

Thanks to all of you out there who echoed my sentiments and sent notes of support.

  1. You are doing a fantastic job.

Not everyone is meant to be a “Nachtwey.”
